A Simple and Interesting Review of Islamic

History in All its Stages

Throughout history, the Islamic world has been exposed to fierce imperial campaigns, such as those carried out by the Tartars and Crusaders in antiquity, besides the imperialistic movements in the modern age. The aim of all these was to wipe out the entity of the Muslim world and undermine its civilization. Recently the West has tried to resume such campaigns in economic, cultural and social forms. It has tried to present Muslims as savage people who have no civilization, and that their history has been based solely on wars and armed struggles.

Utilizing multimedia techniques, Harf has contributed to the rectification of the distorted image of the Islamic history in the minds of Muslim youth through the development of the Islamic History program.

The Islamic History program tracks Islamic history through its different stages, dividing it into ten stages over thirteen centuries, highlighting conquests, treaties and invasions. It presents all this to the Muslim youth so that they may recognize their glorious past and great civilization and deduce lessons from the heritage of their ancestors.

The program reviews Islamic history in its stages over the centuries starting from the period before the Mission of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) until the fall of the Ottoman Islamic Caliphate in the modern age, highlighting conquests, treaties and invasions. It also provides biographical information on the most outstanding caliphs, leaders, and scholars.
The program provides an interesting presentation of the Islamic civilization and its scientific contributions and achievements that helped the development of empirical science in Europe in the modern age. It also presents the Muslim cultural centers and highlights the ages of the heyday of Islamic civilization.
The program supports text with maps, video and pictures that show famous mosques, Islamic architecture, currencies, as well as Islamic art.
The program presents a comprehensive view of the countries of the Islamic world in the modern age, mentioning the fierce imperialist campaigns to which such countries were exposed and their efforts to attain independence.
The program features complete indexing of the most outstanding and influential figures that contributed to the Islamic history such as, Prophets, the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, Umayyad Caliphs, `Abbasid Caliphs, scholars and leaders in addition to non-Muslim figures who played a role in Islamic history such as Tamerlane and Genghis Khan, giving ample information on each of them.
The program displays the History Book which includes all the stages of the Islamic history, such as the Prophetic mission, the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, the Umayyad Caliphs, the Abbasid Caliphs, the Maghrib and Andalusia, the Crusaders, the Ottoman Caliphate ... etc.
The program provides a complete study of the invasions, battles and conquests throughout Islamic history, which had a great effect on the renaissance of the Islamic nation, such as: the Prophet's battles, the conquests of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, the conquests of the Umayyads, and the conquests of the Muslim kings and princes, in addition to a full description of the Muslim army.
The program presents the stages of the spread of Islam and the conquests made by Muslims through the display of documentary maps with an audio commentary.
Ability to print and copy text to any text editor.
Easy navigation throughout program sections via hyperlinks.
The program is considered an advanced service to help disseminating knowledge of Islamic history and civilization among specialized and unspecialized users.
The program features extensive information regarding the outstanding personalities displayed and the positive or negative roles they played in Islamic history.
Prompted by its desire to correct the distorted image of Islam to non-Muslims, Harf has made the program available in English and French, besides Arabic, to enable the non-Arab Muslim youths to be aware of their heritage.
The program is legally approved by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
Runs under Windows 95, 98.
